About

Tanya Bayliss is an abstract artist whose work is influenced by her experiences of living in a variety of states from the snowy north to the sunny south.

Her first exposure to fine art was the opening to Family Ties sitcom which features an artist painting the family. A longing to become that painter was born.
She studied fine art in college and sold a few oil paintings in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.

She took up landscape and floral photography in the early 2000’s and taught children’s art class in 2007 and 2012-2013.

From 2019-2022 she took art classes including drawing, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media at Rum River Art In Anoka, Minnesota and was in two art shows.

After moving to Orlando, Florida in 2022, she studied abstract acrylic at Crealde in WInter Park,FL through 2024.
In 2024 she was selected to participate in Find Your Joy with Louise Fletcher, continuing on with Momentum in 2025.
She has exhibited in the 2023 and 2024 Crealde juried student art show, 3rd Floor Connections art show July 2023, and Creativa Women Made Art juried show in Osceola, FL in 2024. Her work was featured in 2024 at the Corbett Cove Fine Art Gallery in Winter Park, FL. She is also an active member of the Sanford Seminole Art Association. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Casselberry Art House and at the Maitland Library. 

Her art influences are the Abstract Expressionists especially the women of that period including Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Mitchell; the Impressionist Mary Cassatt and Childe Hassam; and Georgia O’Keefe.

She is currently working with acrylic and mixed media to create bold and expressive abstracts.
